Short story writers: Gabrielle Mullarkey
After her English degree, Gabrielle trained as a journalist and has worked on everything from her local paper to Cosmo. She started writing short stories in her 20s and has now had around 1,000 published in magazines, as well as writing two novels – Hush Hush, published by Town House, and A Tale of Two Sisters by Simon & Schuster. The latter was translated into French, as well as serialised in a women’s magazine.
Gabrielle was thrilled to win the 2011 Radio Short story competition. Since then, she’s gained an MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes – she was among the inaugural UK intake accepted onto the course – and looks forward to sharing her passion for writing with others.
